WooHoo! Today was our trip to NASA. This was a great trip (Just an hour or so from where we are staying). As you can see, the
"Rocket Garden" is in full bloom behind me! We had a very special treat today. For those of you who did not see it in the news, they rolled the shuttle "Discovery" out to the pad for it's Dec. 6th or 7th launch. We got out there just a couple hours after it was hard down, and they still had not put the protective cover over the orbiter. It was pretty cool to be as close as just a couple of miles from this incredible machine! We toured the whole fcility, and even got to go into the building where they process pieces of the International Space Station. It was a really nice tour, and as you can see, we also got to go to the Saturn V museum. I (Michael) had seen this before, but I got just as excited this time as the last. Just amazing!
We got to go and see an IMAX film of the Space Station. I had seen it before, but this time it was in 3-D. Not as good a 3 D as the "It's Tough To Be A Bug" show at Animal Kingdom, but still really cool. Got me to thinking that I should work on "From the Bible" in 3-D! Well, that wil have to wait for now.
Next we visited the Astronaught Hall of Fame. Really cool, but here and at Kennedy Space Center, a lot of the shuttle stuff was closed for renovation, or repair. A bit disappointing, but it just begs us for another trip down some day. Maybe to catch a launch! :)
In the last picture you can see Rhonda and I made a day trip to the surface of Mars! Rhonda thought it would be nice to see my home planet! :) That's all for now! We love you all! The trip has been great so far, and we miss you all! Thanks for the prayers! Please keep them coming, we will need them!
